Delays in the revision of the RoHS Directive

The European Commission has announced a delay on the RoHS revision proposal. This delay is justified by the need to review other regulations, as part of the Green Deal. The RoHS review will bring some changes, in the meantime EcoMundo reminds you about the RoHS directives.

Candidate list update: ECHA adds NMA to the list

The SVHC candidate list is updated twice a year, in January and June/July. On June 10, 2022, ECHA added NMA, a carcinogen and mutagen, to the list. The list now has 224 entries.

Tattoo inks: restrictions and limited pigments

Concerns about the chemicals in tattoo inks and their risks have been analyzed and regulated at the European Union level. Authorities have examined the health risks posed by the inks and considered the availability of safer alternatives. They also looked at the socio-economic impact of restricting their use, taking into account the effects on manufacturing and service sector jobs.

4 new substances in the SVHC list

Last week, the list of SVHC or candidate substances for authorization was updated as it is done twice a year. 4 new substances have been added, bringing the number of substances of very high concern to 209.
